🌼 Botanical Contact-Printing: Enhanced Colorful Backgrounds

BOTANICAL CONTACT-PRINTING WITH CARRIER BLANKETS is one of my favorite processes for dyeing & printing fabric with plants and natural dyes. This course is intended to guide the artist in creating bright and vibrant botanical compositions, created from plants, on natural fibers, PLUS how to use a carrier blanket to create alluring background colors that make your plant prints POP 🌿.

🌼 This is a go at your own pace online course with many illustrative photos, easy to read text and process illuminating videos that will be available to access at any time for two years.

🌼 The focus of this course is to show the artist specifically how to eco-print with carrier blankets to achieve (1) bright and colorful backgrounds and (2) deep and rich backgrounds. This course also features the requisite mordant recipes one must use to prepare protein fabrics (silk & wool) and cellulose fabrics (cotton, linen, viscose, hemp) for carrier blanket printing.

• How to mordant protein and cellulose fabric for printing and dyeing

• How to botanical contact-print (aka eco-print) with leaves and flowers

• A “Dark & Rich Mordant” recipe to use with tannin-rich carrier blankets 

• Instructions on how to select and successfully print with leaves and flowers, fresh and dried
