HOW DOES THE ATELIER SERIES WORK?
The Atelier Series is a 5-month online workshop hosted inside the Flora Obscura membership studio.
Each month, you'll receive a new studio guide with step-by-step instructions, recipes, resources, and techniques for that month's project. You'll also be invited to a live Zoom session where I'll demonstrate the process, share tips, and answer questions.
All live sessions are recorded, so if you can't attend live, you can watch at your convenience.
If you join the Full Atelier Bundle now, you'll receive immediate access to the May and June workshops, including all studio guides and class recordings, and you'll continue to receive each new monthly chapter as it is released.
There are no deadlines and no need to keep up with the group. You can move through the projects at your own pace and return to the materials whenever inspiration strikes.

MAY — the verdant shawl
Outcome: Finished silk or lightweight natural fiber shawl
This workshop explores how to create a naturally dyed silk shawl printed with lush, verdant fresh leaves. You'll also learn how to achieve dramatic botanical prints using a carrier blanket—a technique that infuses the fabric with a rich background color while preserving the delicate leaf impressions. The result is bold, layered compositions with exceptional depth, contrast, and luminous botanical detail.
June — PRINTING IN BRILLIANT COLOR & Flora Obscura Kaftan
Outcome: Finished kaftan— printed and sewn by you
An introduction to garment-making through a zero-waste approach which can be applied to any body shape and size— with no size constraints & fully customizable. You’ll cut and construct a simple, elegant form while incorporating your botanical prints, resulting in a piece that is both functional and expressive.
July — THE ESSENTIALS FOR ECO-PRINTING WITH FLOWERS & THE Heirloom flower wrap
Outcome: Botanically printed wrap made from vintage fabric
Discover how to create richly pigmented botanical prints using fresh summer flowers and learn the techniques that produce vibrant color, crisp floral imprints, and lasting results. I'll guide you through every step of the eco printing process—from preparing your textile and arranging flowers to achieving bold, saturated impressions that capture the ephemeral beauty of the garden.
You'll then apply these techniques to a treasured vintage textile or linen, transforming it into a timeless, zero-waste wrap jacket.
August — WILD BLOOM PONCHO
Outcome: A hand-printed poncho formed from a single piece of cloth
Created from one continuous piece of cloth, the poncho becomes the template for larger-scale compositions. Working with late summer plants, we’ll explore depth through floral motifs, large-scale botanical printing techniques and tonal shifts.
September — harvest TAPESTRY
Outcome: Finished textile pieced together from smaller botanical prints
A culmination of the seasons practice—you’ll bring togther collected prints, stitching them into a larger composition— a tapestry, wall hanging, quilt or made into a garment. This workshop centers on integration and honoring the full arc of what’s been created.

Whether you're entirely new to botanical color or an experienced textile artist, you'll find inspiration and practical instruction throughout the series. The sewing projects are intentionally simple and approachable, requiring only a sewing machine and basic straight-stitch skills.

Atelier Archive I: The Woodland Shawl— A dark botanical silk velvet study.
In this workshop, you'll learn how to combine ecoprinting and natural dye techniques to create a dramatic textile infused with the beauty of fresh leaves and flowers. Say hello to my first sewing pattern! The Flora Obscura Kaftan: Edition One is a paperless sewing pattern that transforms simple lengths of fabric into an elegant, wearable silhouette. Designed with simplicity in mind, this project requires only straight cuts and straight seams, making it an approachable introduction to garment sewing.

You’re welcome to join at any time—students who enroll retroactively receive access to the current month’s materials, upcoming monthly chapters, and all live sessions moving forward, with the freedom to move through the content at their own pace.
