WELCOME TO THE
BOTANICAL ATELIER
The Botanical Atelier is a monthly workshop series focused on natural dyeing, botanical printing, and beginner-friendly sewing projects.
A live session based around a specific theme is held each month. We’ll begin with foundational processes and botanical contact-printing. We’ll progress into zero-waste garment construction and larger-scale motif development—building toward your own refined, wearable textiles.
Perfect for those interested in sustainable fashion, slow textiles, and fiber arts, The Botanical Atelier offers a supportive environment to experiment, learn, and develop your creative voice.
each month highlights a theme in
botanical printing and textiles:
May — The Botanical Scarf
Outcome: Finished silk—or lightweight natural fiber— scarf/shawl
Working with fresh spring leaves, you’ll create a wearable piece that captures the striking pigmentation of verdant spring leaves. This workshop focuses on placement, clarity of imprint, and working with the delicate balance between tannin and iron on cloth.
June — Flora Obscura Kaftan
Outcome: Finished kaftan— printed and sewn by you
An introduction to garment-making through a zero-waste approach. You’ll cut and construct a simple, elegant form while incorporating your botanical prints, resulting in a piece that is both functional and expressive.
July — Heirloom flower printed wrap
Outcome: Botanically printed wrap made from vintage fabric
Using fresh summer flowers, you’ll transform a vintage texile or linen into something renewed— a zero-waste wrap jacket. This workshop explores the bold and saturated imprints of fresh flowers, working with heirloom textiles, and embracing their history and imperfections.
August — botanical WRAP jacket
Outcome: Botanically printed wrap jacket dyed and sewn by you
An continuation of simple garment-construction. You’ll cut and construct a simple, elegant form while incorporating your botanical prints, resulting in a piece that is both functional and expressive.
September — WILDLOOM TAPESTRY
Outcome: Finished textile pieced together from smaller botanical prints
A continuation of the series—this time focusing on sewing printed textiles into a larger tapestry to be displayed as a wall hanging, quilt or made into a garment.
